Above the town
in fields of green
I first heard
the nightingale sing

What do I hear
in eventide
by waterside
Over the meadow
in a small tree
I can hear a chickadee

A forest glen
where I walked through
above the blue
a raven flew

Best of all
light-hearted friend
red breasted song
the robin
the robin

Here all year
the robin
evening's hush
called by a thrush
and robin
